Rachel J.E Sprague is an illustrator, author, and fine artist who works out of her home in Seattle, Washington. She has an advanced degree form the University of Washington in Natural Science Illustration, as well as a BA from UC Berkeley in English.
Recently, Rachel’s full length children’s book, Adaa’s Story (2023, Fathom Publishing) was honored as an Eric Hoffer Award finalist.
Rachel has a large and varied portfolio which ranges from traditional fine art, to pieces designed for children’s literature, as well as surface and apparel design. She has done extensive botanical illustration as well as gorgeous renderings of birds, animals, and bones which can be viewed in the scientific illustration gallery.
Commercially Rachel has had the honor of working with a wide and varied list of clients, including Coloring My Town, The Seattle Japanese Garden, The Page Ahead Literacy Program, The Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation, and more.
Rachel has also recently been welcomed into the public art community of Seattle. She is dedicated to using her artwork to connect her community to the surrounding natural world and green spaces.
